    All flight classes may use the Türk Telekom WiFi Fly service by selecting a 1 hour or 24 hour package and purchasing it with their credit card after boarding the plane.

  • The Türk Telekom WiFi Fly Service;

    The system activates only on international flights and above 10,000 feet.

    The Türk Telekom WiFi Fly service is subject to the regulations in the country of the airspace being travelled through. There may be interruptions in the internet service while flying over certain countries. Information will be provided about the interruption on the screens in the aircrafts.

    If you’ve already created a Türk Telekom WiFi Fly user account, you may use it while subsequent logins.

    Internet services are free for Business Class passengers./p>

    Open WiFi of your device when it is on flight mode

    Select and connect to the Türk Telekom WiFi Fly wireless network from your personal laptop, tablet or smart phone

    By opening any web browser (like Explorer, Chrome, Firefox) you will automatically be directed to an entry page. Click to “Internet” button and then click on the package you wish to purchase.

    Enter, in order, your passenger information and user information and complete your payment transaction to access the freedom of the internet.

Package Options

You may choose from two alternatives for short term and long term needs.

Package fees may change subject to currency fluctuation.

The packages are valid for a fixed period which starts when you
purchase the package and ends at the end of the package period (1 hour or 24 hours).
Disconnecting from the internet for a short time will not extend the package term.

The internet packages can only be purchased with a credit card while on the airplane.

If transferring to another airplane equipped with the Turkish Airlines
internet infrastructure, the packages may
continue to be used until they run out.

    The service will be activated only on international flights and at a height of 10,000 feet (approx. 3,000 meters)

    Generally only when the fasten seatbelt sign is not illuminated.
    The instructions given by on-board staff have priority.
    The service is automatically deactivated during take-off and landing.

    Under what SSID is the WLAN network provided?

    The SSID is called "Türk Telekom WiFi Fly". It is publicly broadcast.

    No, the service is available throughout the passenger cabin.

    Is the session terminated if the user moves around the aircraft with his smartphone?

    No, the connection will be maintained even then, which means that streaming also remains uninterrupted.

  • What speeds can be reached on the aircraft?

    Download speeds of up to 5 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 0.5 Mbps.
    However, you should be aware that the higher the number of users using it on the aircraft at the same time, the more the capacity is split.

  • Is the login at the HotSpot secure?

    Türk Telekom WiFi Fly serves according to the technology standards and related laws and regulations. Customers login to internet through a secured site, so username and passwords are protected. Can be surfed at the sites that are served through SSL service. Customers are recommended to use anti-virus and personal firewall softwares. More security needed customers are recommended to use VPN clients.

  • Is it safe to operate a HotSpot on an aircraft?

    Yes. It is quite safe to operate a HotSpot on an aircraft. Since passenger safety is of the utmost importance, before a HotSpot is put into operation on an aircraft, all relevant aspects are fully tested and the safety certified by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

  • Where are the credit card vouchers I buy on the aircraft valid?

    If you buy a voucher on the aircraft you can continue using it on a connecting flight, provided the aircraft is a Turkish Airlines aircraft and has been specially fitted with this service.

    Please note that only credit card vouchers which have been purchased on the aircraft can be used on the aircraft.

  • On which airplanes is the internet service active?

    The internet service is active on all Boeing 777-300ER airplanes in the Turkish Airlines fleet. The system will also be installed on all of the new wide body aircraft that Turkish Airlines will purchase from Boeing and Airbus and the system is planned to be active in 62 wide body aircraft by the end of 2017.

  • Is there internet available on all Domestic/International Turkish Airline flights?

    The Türk Telekom WiFi Fly service will only be active on international flights.

    Will internet be available throughout the whole flight? Will there be any interruptions?

    The internet infrastructure is achieved using access satellites. There may be some short interruptions in service due to faults that may be experienced during access to these satellites.

  • Is use valid in all air spaces? Will the internet use vary according to the air space we are in? Will there be countries that do not allow internet use?

    The availability of internet service on an aircraft is subject to the permission of the country in which the airspace is being used. In the event that the aircraft is over a country that does not allow internet access, the services may be temporarily interrupted. Considering the existing flight routes of Turkish Airlines it appears that China is the only country over which internet access may be restricted.

    If the aircraft you are traveling in is approaching an airspace in which Internet use is not permitted the time remaining until the Internet service interruption will be announced to you on your screen.

  • What are the conditions necessary for this service to be provided? How come it can only be available on certain aircraft?

    Internet services can only be provided on aircraft that have the necessary wireless internet infrastructure.

    What flight routes is this service planned for?

    Boeing 777-300ER type airplanes mostly fly on the New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Saul Paulo, Peking, Shanghai, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Jeddah, Medina and Brussels routes. However Turkish Airlines may use these aircraft for other destinations as well according to its plans.

  • Are there plans to have internet service on domestic flights as well?

    The determining factor here is that the aircraft must reach a certain height which is 10 thousand feet – 3 thousand meters, in order for the system to be technically active. Therefore internet services are not being planned at the moment for domestic flights.

    What features will be provided to passengers in the scope of this service? (Example charging, etc.)

    In the B777-300ER type airplanes that provide internet services, passengers in all classes are provided with electrical outlets in which to charge their devices.

  • Are there special privileges for Business Class passengers?

    On all international flights where services are provided at the request of Turkish Airlines, Business Class passengers may use the internet services free of charge.

    Türk Telekom WiFi packages cannot be used on the plane.
